The PDAC's Guided Tours of the Exhibits are a unique opportunity to directly engage with groups of student and early-career individuals right at your booth, allowing you to increase your company profile, share upcoming projects, and promote potential job openings to keen individuals soon to be transitioning into the workforce.

These one-on-one meetings connect students and early career individuals with experienced industry professionals for personalized feedback on their educational and professional careers.

Participants are welcome to ask questions and discuss topics including (but not limited to): interview and resume tips, job searching, achieving future career goals, education and training advice, careers in the industry, complementary skillsets, Convention pro-tips, and key sessions to attend.

All participants must be registered PDAC 2025 Convention delegates.

SIMEW

PDAC developed the Student‑Industry Mineral Exploration Workshop (S‑IMEW) in 2007 as a unique event designed to attract students to the mineral exploration industry and to give them a practical and business perspective of mineral exploration not generally available in the classroom.

To date, 362 students, including 143 women, have participated in S‑IMEW since its inception. The idea behind S‑IMEW was direct and ambitious: to promote a strong and vibrant mineral exploration industry, led by the students who will ultimately become its future.

PDAC thanks all of the outstanding volunteers and sponsors who have allowed S‑IMEW and its participants to succeed over the past decade.

SUBSIDY

Gearing Up drives systemic change by aligning post-secondary student skills training with mining industry requirements through employer delivery of work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunities.

The program is creating over 2,000 new WIL opportunities, with wage subsidies up to $7,000 available to employers who offer work experience, co-op placements, internships, field placements or applied projects.

WIL opportunities better position post-secondary students to secure employment in their field of study. While Gearing Up is open to all eligible students, the program also encourages participation by underrepresented groups such as women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, recent immigrants, first-year students and members of visible minority groups.

MiHR's Green Jobs provides work placement opportunities in the mining sector with a focus on clean technology and innovation for youth aged 15-30. MiHR will provide 80% of a participant's compensation to a maximum of $25,000 for job-ready youth and $32,000 for job-ready youth furthest from employment (Indigenous youth, youth in northern regions, rural and remote communities and youth with disabilities).
